Kesi Vadham & Vyomasura Vadham – Srimad Narayaneeyam / Srimad Bhagavatham !! Lyrics & Its meanings

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Keshi who was a close associate of Kamsa/King of Bhoja, encountered failure in all his attempts, he had a thought in mind that you were easily attainable for Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi who was  originated from the ocean, so he decided to assume the form of a horse from the land of Sindhu.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Though Keshi had attained the form of a celestial horse, it had an alarming voice which frightened the entire world.   The sinful Keshi destroyed the whole of Gokula, consequently set an eye on you and hurried to you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have seated on your celestial vehicle Garuda who was already aware of the legend about the thrust you have received from Sage Brighu, thought the he could practice the same and kicked on the chest of the demon Keshi with its foot.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have quickly caught Keshi’s hoof and tossed him in the air, he landed with a loud thud in a far off place and became unconscious.  Soon he regained consciousness and hurried to you in extreme wrath.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have decided to punish Keshi, and placed your powerful arm in his mouth; gradually you have increased the size of your arm and chocked him to death.  Though he was a demon in the form of horse, he attained union with you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The demon Keshi’s death brought immense pleasure to the deities, as if it was an Ashwamedha Yaga performed by you.   The deities honored you with the holy name ‘Keshava’, slayer of Keshi.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Maharishi Narada revealed your birth secret to Kamsa, that you are the son of Vasudeva.  Kamsa hurried to Vasudeva in an extreme rage to kill him was discouraged by Maharishi Narada.  At the annihilation of Keshi, Maharishi Narada arrived and sung praising the glories of you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Once you were immersed in playing Nilayanakreeda/hide & seek with the Gopas in the woods.  In the mean time, the demon Vyomasura son of Maya and enemy of deities, who has extra ordinary illusionary powers, approached you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Vyomasura joined with the crowd of Gopas and began to play the game.  Eventually he prompted the Gopas and their cows to hide in a cave and closed its mouth with a stone.  Ultimately, you have realized the pathetic state of Gopas and vanquished the demon Vyomasura.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have made the entire people of Vraja soak in extreme bliss with your various sporting activities.  Oh! Paramathmaroopin, Oh! Pavanesha, we earnestly pray to protect us.
