Vadanallar/Pozhichallur is one of the Abhimana Kshetram of Lord Shiva famous for Lord Saturn located at a distance of 2km from the Pallavaram Railway Station, Chennai.  It is one of the ancient temples existing from the period of Chola regime. In this temple Lord Shiva worshipped in the form of a self-manifested Linga.
 
Presiding deity – Sri Agasthyeeshwarar with his consort Goddess Sri Anandavalli
 
Sthalavruksham – Mango Tree
 
Theertham – Nallar Shani Theertham
 
Worshipped by – Lord Saturn, Sage Agasthya,
Sage Agastya while returning from Mount Kailash on his way to Podhikai Malai worshipped Lord Agastheeswara in this temple.

The legend has that Lord Saturn creates severe impacts upon the life of devotees during the changes in planetary positions, thus the devotees has to undergo extreme hardships during those periods.  Therefore, Lord Saturn was afflicted with the sin; in order to get rid of the sin Lord Saturn underwent severe penance and worshiped Lord Shiva.  At the divine instruction of Lord Shiva,  Saturn arrived on this sacred land of Pozhichallur, created a holy pond ‘Nallar Shani Theertham’ and worshipped Lord Agastheeswara in this temple and eventually got rid of the sins.
 
This temple remains open from 5.30 AM to 12.00 PM in the morning and 4.00 PM to 8.30 PM in the evenings.
