Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The deities were delightfully witnessed the sight of your tender belly attached to the grinding stone close to a Kakubha/ Arjuna tree was eulogized your glories and honored you with the glorious name ‘Damodhara’.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Nalakoobara and Manigreevah , sons of Lord Kubera was passionate devotees of Lord Shiva, they attained prosperities and became very arrogant, they were uninterested in you and led a rebellious life for a long time.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Once Nalakoobara and Manigreevah in an intoxicated state engaged in entertaining the damsels all around, singing and sporting in the sacred river Ganaga without any clothes on their bodies was witnessed by Maharishi Narada, zealous devotee of you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The damsels were anxiously covered their bodies at the sight of Maharishi Narada, but Nalakoobara and Manigreevaha was continued to sport in a state of intoxication, Maharishi Narada pronounced ‘Where is happiness if there is no calmness of mind?’ with an good intention to attain them the devotion to you and mental peace.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Maharishi Narada declared ‘You two will assume the form of Kakubha tree for long time, when you attain the vision of Lord Hari; you will regain your old forms.”  Thus, Nalakoobara and Manigreevaha moved to the borders of Vraja with an intense desire to have the vision of you and assumed the form of Kakubha trees.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,  You have approached the two very old and putrefied Kakubha tree in a slow pace and pulled the grinding stone tied up with your body  diagonally through them, instantly the tree was uprooted and fell down.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, when the trees fell down, immediately there appeared the brilliant Yakshas/sons of Lord Kubera, Oh! Govinda, they worshipped you and sung praising the glories of you with the sacred hymns.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, It’s certain that the devotees of other deities also worship you, in due course of time Nalakoobara and Manigreevah the two devotees of Lord Rudra attained your lotus feet with the grace of Maharishi Narada were achieved highest pieties of devotion.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,  The Gopas came rushing in extreme fright after listening to the deafening noise of the falling of trees, your mother/Yasodha was ashamed of her act.  Soon you were released from the grinding stone, the one who liberates the souls from worldly bondages by Nanda.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The Gopas assembled were in a state of wonder, exclaimed that the child who went through the middle of the rotten trees was protected by the grace of Almighty, eventually they took you inside the home.  Oh! Maruthpuradhishwara, we earnestly pray to protect us from all ailments.
