Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The deities appealed to you for the annihilation of the demon King Ravana.  At the request of King Dasaratha a grand Puthrakameshti Yagna was initiated by Sage Rishyshrunga in the Kingom of Kosala.  The Payasa/sweetened porridge emerged from the Yagna was distributed among the wives of King Dasaratha.  In due course of time, wives of King Dasaratha conceived with their children, eventually gave birth to Rama, Lakshman, Bharatha and Shathrugna.   Thus, Oh! Supreme Lord, you were born as Rama.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, at the command of your father, you have proceeded with Sage Vishwamithra, carrying the divine bow Kodhanda to protect his fire sacrifice followed by Lakshman.  On your way, Sage Vishwamithra imparted the knowledge of sacred hymns Bala & Athibala to conquer the hunger and thirst.  At the command of Sage Vishwamithra, you have vanquished the demon Thadaka with your powerful arrow for the welfare of the Sages & Rishis.  You have received the knowledge and usage of armaments & various powerful Asthra & Shasthra from Sage Vishamithra and proceeded to the hermitage Siddashrama in the woodlands.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have protected the Yagna of Kaushika, chased away Mareecha and killed many of the demons in the process.  On the way to Mithila, you have released Ahalya from her curse and sins with the dust of your feet.  At the palace of Vidheha, Kingdom of  Janaka, you have broken the divine bow of Lord Shiva/Shivadhanuss, in that way you have won Sita, daughter of Earth and  personification of Goddess Srimahalakshmi as your consort.  You have left the Kingdom of Vidheha with three of your brothers and their wives to Ayodhya.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Kanthamoorthey, on your way to Ayodhya, foremost from the clan of Bhrigu, Sage Parasurama confronted with you was defeated by you; eventually he offered all his powers to you.  You went to Ayodhya and lived happily with your consort Sita.  One day, Bharatha and Shathrugna were away to the Kingdom of their uncle, shortly your father decided to perform the coronation ceremony of you was obstructed by Kaikeyi, daughter of King Keykeya.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, In order to keep up the promise to your father, you have proceeded to woodland with your bow and arrow & your consort Sita, accompanied by Lakshman.  The people of city of Ayodhya were grief stricken followed you was sent back to their homes, you proceeded to the place of Guha.  You have worn the attire of an ascetic with matted hair locks crossed the sacred river Ganga, eventually met Sage Bharadhwaja and paid obeisance to him.  At the instruction of Sage Bharadhwaja you have settled in the Mount Chithrakoota and lived happily.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have heard from Bharatha about the sudden demise of your father due to the pain of separation from you.  You have performed final rite to your father with an extreme grief.  You have offered divine sandals to Bharatha to rule the Kingdom of Ayodhya and bade farewell to Sage Atri.  You have proceeded through the dark forest of Dandaka and vanquished the dreadful demon Viradha and provided salvation to Sage Sharabhanga.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have met Sage Agastya and promised the sages of Dandakavanam that you will annihilate the entire clan of demon and make the forest inhabitable for human once again.  You have received Brahmasthra and divine Vaishnava bow to carry out the process.  You have met Jatayu, one of the close associate of your father and settled in Panchavati situated on the river banks of Godavari.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Shoorpanakha tried to lure you, but you were annoyed by her actions and send her to Lakshman who was extremely infuriated and cut her nose off.  Khara, Dhooshan, Thrishirass after witnessing the pathetic state of Shoorpanakha, hurried to you in a fury.  Oh! Supreme Lord, who is the embodiment of valor, killed ten thousand demons effortlessly.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Shoorpanakha described the mesmerizing beauty of Sita to Ravana, soon he became enticed at her gorgeousness and ordered Mareecha to disguise in the form of a golden deer.  Sita/Sarasakshi expressed her desire to have the golden deer; you chased after it and ultimately killed with an arrow.  Ultimately, Mareecha died after giving out a cry imitating you.  Listening to the cries of Mareecha, Sita prompted Lakshmana to leave in search of you.  Ravana found it was the right time to abduct Sita.  Oh! Supreme Lord, although you were grieved at the separation of Sita, also pleased to find a reason to vanquish the demon Ravana.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have met severely wounded Jatayu while searching for Sita, he informed you about Sita’s abduction by Ravana and he got brutally injured while protecting her, soon Jatayu left his mortal coil.  Oh! Compassionate Lord, You have performed funeral rite for Jatayu.  You have vanquished the demon Kabandha who caused impediments.  You have provided salvation to Shabari, who is a fervent devotee of you.  You have met Hanuman/Vathasoonu, on the river Pampa which made you extremely happy.  Oh! Pahivathalayesha, I earnestly pray to protect us.
