Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, you have incarnated as Dhaththathreya, son of Sage
Athri and his chaste wife Anasuya, you have mentally exhausted by your
disciples and moved on with your consort, immersed in a state of bliss. In the mean time you have met with
Karthyaveerarjuna, the King of Heyheya and an ardent devotee of you. You were pleased with his devotion and
offered him boon of Ashtaishwarya/eight forms of wealth, and prophesied that
his death will happen by your hands.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, In order to implement the predictions to
Karthyaveeryarjuna, you have born to Sage Jamadagni and Renuka, as Rama in the
lineage of Bhrigu. As a youngest child
to the couple, you have provided them immense joy. Oh! Hare, you have incarnated as Rama to
annihilate the mischievous and wicked rulers who were burden on mother Earth,
and keep an eye on the valor of King Karthyaveeryarjuna as well.

Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have attained profound knowledge in Veda by the
age of fourteen. Your father Sage
Jamadhagni was enraged at your mother, who was enticed by Gandharva King
Chaithraratha, eventually you have sincerely carried out the command of your
father, severed your mother’s head and brothers who were not willing obey the
orders of your father. Shortly, you have
requested boon from your father who was at peace. You have restored their lives with the boons
and received boon from your mother who was extremely pleased at you.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have brought the divine cow Kamadhenu with your
prayers in the hermitage of Sage Jamadhagni and Renuka. Shortly, you have proceeded to Himalayas at
the advice of Bhrigu to undergo austerities and penance worshipping Lord
Shiva. Lord Shiva was pleased at your
austerities and offered several weapons including the divine weapon Parasu,
eventually annihilated the demons at his command. Later you have made a close association with
Sage Akruthavrana, and returned to your hermitage.

Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, once King Karthaveeryarjuna was on his hunting
expedition, arrived at the hermitage of your father was received with all
honors, served him with all the sumptuousness provided by the divine cow
Kamadhenu. While leaving the hermitage
King Karthyaveerarjuna ordered his ministers to get possession of Kamadhenu, eventually the cow
was captured by the King’s men, when Sage Jamadhagni was intervened was killed
instantly, several warriors were emerged from the furious Kamadhenu and
conquered the entire army of King, but the calf was taken away by the Kings men
at the end.

Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Sage Jamadagni was brought back into life by Sage
Shukracharya. Your father narrated the
entire happenings to you, it stirred fury in you. You have left with your close associates and
underwent austerities worshipped on Lord Mahodhara, eventually attained bow,
arrow and axe. Shortly you have arrived
in the province of Mahishmathi in a chariot driven by a charioteer. You have requested King Karthaveeryarjuna to release
the calf, but he was not willing to do that, ultimately a fierce battle was
begun.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, King Karthaveeryarjuna entered the battle feild
with his 10,000 sons , 17 Akshouhini army, several friends and commanders. Oh! Supreme Lord, you have killed his sons
and entire armies with your Parasu and a few fled out of fear from the battle
field, you have attacked Karthaveeryarjuna, King of Heheya.

Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Once King Karthaveeryarjuna with his thousands of
arms cleverly seized the flow of river Narmada, it caused Ravana drowning in
the brimming water while performing ablution; it hurt the pride of Ravana.
Although Karthaveeryarjuna had powerful arms wielded with fierce weapons, he
realized the power of your holy wheel; he envisioned you as Supreme Lord Hari
and in a state of ecstasy meditated upon you.
Instantly all his sins were washed off and killed by you, eventually he attained the
Abode of Vaikundha.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Sons of King Karthaveeryarjuna retaliated against
your father and killed him, Renuka was inconsolable grieved over the death of
her husband, wept bitterly hitting on her chest. You took a vow seeing her in a pathetic
state. You have boarded on a chariot
with the divine weapons and killed all those Kshathriyas who were the enemies
of Brahmin, with the divine axe you have wiped out the kshthriyas from all
corners and the Earth remained with no Kshathriyas.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, your father Sage Jamadhagni was brought back to
life. You have annihilated the clan of
Kshathriyas for twenty one times, performed homage to ancestors with the blood
in the vast lake Samantha Panchaka and gave away abundance of land as charity
to Rishi Kashyapa and others. Oh! Hare,
Sage Sanathkumara intervened while you were battling with King Salva, and
informed you that he was destined to be killed by Lord Krishna.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have discarded all the weapons and underwent
severe austerities in Mount Mahendra.
You have noticed that the land up to Gokarna was submerged into water,
all the sages requested to protect the land; you have frightened the ocean with
the fierce Analasthra. With the ladle
you have recovered the land, scooped out the land that was submerged in the
ocean known as Kerala. Oh! Bhrugupathey,
I earnestly pray to protect us.
