Sri Andal Thiruppavai - 9 !!

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Sri Andal, who was the daughter of Sri Periyalvar has the names Godha Piratti/Soodikudutha Nachiyar/Bhattar Piran Puthalvi and Thiruppavai Padiya Selvi.  She has composed illustrious Thiruppavai contains 30 verses and Nachiyar Thirumozhi contains 143 verses praising the glories of Lord Vishnu.

In this Pasuram/Verse, Sri Andal emphasize that the holy names of Lord are powerful than the Supreme Lord himself, they can instantly grant wishes to His devotees.  Sri Andal reveals her pain of separation from Lord Krishna, she narrates the house of a young maiden embellished with the earthen lamps and full of rich fragrances all seems to be worthless in the absence of Lord Krishna and instructs her to open the latch of the door and asks her to join with her, later requesting the mother of the young maiden to wake her up.  One of the girls irritatingly speaking ‘Is she dumb or deaf?’ the another one comments ‘she must have spent plentiful hours in joy with Lord Krisha, that made her tired and approach bed to ease her tiredness’ or somebody must have cast evil spell on her.  Sri Andal insists her to wake up and chant the holy names of the Supreme Lord Krishna.
