attained highly propitious stature with the presence of Lord as Omkareshwar and
Amaleshwar and blessed Mount Vidhyachala with a perpetual growth. Hence, Mount Vindhyachala assumed a huge size
created impediments in the smooth functioning of Lord Surya’s movement across
the universe. Therefore one part of the
universe undergone extreme heat and continuous day light, on the other hand the
south part of the universe remained dark and stopped the normal functioning of
the Universe. All the Sages and deities

wife Lopamudra was living in Kasi, they underwent severe austerities

sages approached Sage Agastya and requested to stop Mount Vindhya from its outlandish
growth. Sage Agastya intervened and
instructed Vindhyachala to reduce its size till he gets back from south and
left Kashi sorrowfully. Accordingly
