Sri Navaneetha Krishnan Temple/Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar temple is one of the Abhimana Kshetram of  Lord Vishnu  as Lord Narasimha and Lord Krishna, an 4th and 9th incarnations located in Sarvamangala Nagar, Nanganallur, Chennai.  This is one of the oldest temples built during the 8th century by the Kings of Pallava dynasty.  This temple owns several artifacts and stone images of Pallava period were found while renovation in the year 1974 and Sudarsana Homam, Sri Sooktha Homam and Bhoomi Sankharshana Puja etc. were conducted at the instructions of Sri Mahaswamigal of Kanchi.   This temple is famous for its brilliant architectural work and exquisite murals of 108 Divya Desams and pictorial descriptions of Nachiyar Thiruppavai on the portals.

Festivals – Sri Rama Navami, Krishnashtami, Vaikunda Ekadashi, Panguni Uthiram, Annakoottustavam, Markazhi Utsavam, Nrusimha Jayanthi festival celebrate in a grand manner with the procession of Lord Narasimha on Garudalwar, Thirumanjanam and Thirukalyanam, special rituals on all Pradosham days for Pradosha Narasimhar,

 

The legend has that Sage Jamagadni, father of Lord Parasurama performed the Yagna invoking Lord Narasimha.  Lord was pleased at the austerities of Sage Jamadagni and appeared before him.  Sage earnestly prayed to Lord Narasimha to remain in this sacred place and bless his devotees.

 
This temple remains open from 6.00 AM to 11.30 AM in the morning and 4.30 PM to 8.00 PM in the evenings.
