But, Lord Nandikeshwara who was already taken seat in front of Lord completely blocked the view. Thirunalaipovar who was born in a low caste, not permitted to enter temple stood with great anguish far from the temple sight and prayed to Lord. The compassionate Lord advised Nandikeshwara to slightly move away from the seat he had already occupied. Finally Nandanar had blissful dharshan of Lord Shivalokanathar form the place where he stood.

Tharakasura’s three sons Tharakaksha, Vidyunmali, Kamalaksha constructed a magnanimous palace ‘Tri-pura’ in the celestial world and it resulted in mal- functioning of planets in the orbit.  Lord Shiva defeated the three demons who were staunch devotees of Lord; they realized their mistake and remained humble servants of Lord as Dwarapalakas.

Thiru Sundaramoorthy Nayanar and Thiru Eyarkon Kalikkama Nayanar visited this sacred land and found the people were suffering from severe drought and famine for quite some time.  Sundarar declared that if the King who was ruling the city contribute certain acres of land for the temple may possibly bring enough rain.  The King agreed for this arrangement and offered some land; Sundarar passionately sung praising the glories of Lord Shivalokanathar which brought heavy down pour in this area.  The torrential rain continued for several days and people were in dilemma.  Once again Sundarar made an agreement with the King to donate certain acres of land to the temple which brought a sudden halt to the downpour.  In this way, Sundarar acquired several acres of land as wealth for the temple.
