Desams of Lord Vishnu located in Thirunangur, Nagapattinam District, Tamil
Nadu.

consort Goddess Sri Purushothama Nayaki/Periya Piratti

Vimanam – Sanjeevani Vimanam
Sthalavruksham – Jack fruit tree/Plantain
Significance – Thiru Manavala Mamunigal served
Lord Purushothama in this sacred temple.

The legend has that Rishi Vyagrapadha arrived on
this sacred land with his child Upamanyu.
Rishi was s0 engrossed in collecting flowers for offering to Lord
Purushothama from the temple garden leaving behind the child. Soon, the child started to weep loudly due to
hunger. The compassionate Lord
Purushothama created an ocean of milk for the child and instructed Goddess
Periya Nayaki to feed the hungry child Upamanyu.
This temple remains open from 6.00AM to 11.30 AM
in the morning and 4.00PM to 8.00PM in the evenings.
