Lord Brahma worshipped Lord Shiva in this sacred land for several thousand years following severe austerities and got dharshan of Lord Shiva with Goddess Parvati.  Lord Subramanya worshipped Lord Shiva to get rid of Brahmahathya sin after the fierce battle with the demon Shoorapadman.

This temple remains open from 6.00AM to 1.00PM in the morning and 5.00PM to 9.00PM in the evenings.
