Tulsi Vivah/Tulsi Puja is performed on the Shukla Dwadashi day
in the month of Karthik. Tulsi Vivah commemorates Lord Vishnu’s marriage
to Sri Tulsi (Sri Mahalakshmi). The daily Worship of Tulsi plants (Basil
Plant) in our homes are very common. As a part of austerities
for worship of Tulsi on this auspicious day one has to follow austerities and Vedic
hymns are chanted to perform Tulsi Vivah. Tulsi plant and the pot
is decorated with Haldi, Kumkum, colorful rangoli, flowers, earthen ghee lamp,
incense stick, bhog etc.
