Sri Krishna Jayanti/Gokulashtami/Janmashtami !! Part II !!

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

There were Yadavas, the descendants of King Yadu lived in the Kingdom of Yadavas that was ruled by the King Sura.   Later the Kingdom of Yadavas was divided into two Mathura and Surasena.   King Sura had two sons Ugrasena and Devaka,  Ugrasena became the King of Mathura and he had a son Kamsa.  Devaka had a daughter named Devaki.  The King Sura had a noble son Vasudeva.  Kamsa was very fond of Devaki, as he was no sister of his own.  A marriage was arranged between Devaki and Vaudeva.  The marriage took place in a grand manner, the bride and bridegroom prepared to bid farewell.   The grand marriage procession began Kamsa who was too affectionate to Devaki was the charioteer followed by hundred golden chariots, four hundred elephants and a huge army of warriors to follow the bride and bridegroom.   Kamsa was deeply disappointed at the separation of his sister Devaki.  The chariot of Vasudeva and Devaki moved through the streets in a classy manner, Kamsa as a charioteer.

Suddenly, a mysterious voice from the sky broke out, and it captured the attention of everyone.  All the sounds of drum beat and joy of happiness has stopped.  The mysterious voice declared ‘ Kamsa, You are a real fool.  The eighth child born to Devaki and Vasudeva would be the one to take away your life’.

At this, Kamsa lost his real sense.  He was screaming alarmingly at the sky looking around for the owner of the voice.  He madly got out of chariot with the fear of death.  He was bewildered and the affection that was all through his eyes where vanished.  His eyes turned out cruel and terrifying, he approached his sister Devaki, caught her in her hair and dragged out of the chariot without any mercy.  Vasudeva shocked at the turn of events, followed Kamsa begging to leave his newly wedded wife.  Kamsa roared at Devaki and raised his sword to kill her.  Vasudeva fallen at the feet of Kamsa and begged him to leave her.  Vasudeva promised Kamsa that the child born to them would be presented before Kamsa immediately after its birth.  Kamsa agreed to the conditions put forwarded by Vasudeva.  Thus, a beautiful marriage ceremony turned into a terrible nightmare, eventually a journey to prison for the newlyweds.
