Thiruvanhidrapuram Sri Devanatha Perumal Temple is known as one of the 108 divya desam of Lord Mahavishnu situated in Kadalur.  The daily rituals of Lord Hayagreeva performed with the the Moola Manthra:

Gnananandamayam Devam Nirmalam Spatikakrutham
Adharam Sarva Vidhyanam Hayagreeva Upasmahey.

Opposite to this temple there is  Hill  called ‘Oushadagiri’ existing from the date back to Ramayan Era.  Lord Anjaneya while carrying the herbal hill ‘Sanjeevi’ in order to the save the life of Lakshman, a part of it kept it in the ‘Oushadhagiri’.   There is a temple for Lord Hayagreevah situated on the top of the hill.    There are nearly 72 steps which leads to the temple of Lord Hayagreevah at the top of the hill.     The ‘Oushadagiri’ has got varieties of Herbal plants with rich medicinal value.  It is believed that the Rishis are still living here.   Just spending a few quality times in here brings mental as well physical well being.   Lord Hayagreeva is worshipped in the form of Cryastal, who is the personification of Intelligence. 

Sri Nigamanda Vedanta Desikachariyar who was born in Thuppul, was  an ardent devotee of Lord Hayagriva - An epitome of knowledge.   He had the undying enthusiasm to learn throughout his life.  Once he had an argument with a Sculptor, which motivated him to construct his own image within 40 days and the Statuette made by him can be seen  in the ‘Oushadagiri’ .  Sri Vedanta  Desikar wrote many literatures in Sanskrit and tamil,  with the blessings of Lord Hayagreeva.  He worshipped Sri Maha Lakshmi with   his composition Sri Stuti, upon this Sri Mahalakshmi showered wealth on a poor Brahmin.
