Hayagreeva Upanishad describes the glories of Lord
Hayagreeva that mere chanting or listening to the sacred names of Lord
Hayagreeva brings abundance of virtues. The worship of Lord
Hayagreeva brings Knowledge, Intelligence, good memory power,
clarity in speech, perpetual thirst to learn etc., Sri Ramanuja who
wrote Brahma Sutra got the title ‘Bashyakara’ was worshipped Lord
Hayagreevah and got blessings from Goddess Sarawathy as well. Goddess
Saraswathy advised Sri Ramanuja with the Hayagreeva Moola Mantra.
There is a Sannidhi for Lord Hayagreeva in Kanchipuram Sri Kanchi Kamakshi Temple , Lord Hyagreeva reciting the sacred Sri Lalitha Sahasranama to Sage Agastya. In fact, Sage
Agastya had learned all the art forms and attained profound knowledge from Lord
Hayagreeva. Sri Lalitha Sahasranam and Sri Lalitha Trishathi also
introduced by Lord Hayagreeva to Sage Agastya.
Worship of Lord Hayagreeva should be done by following severe
austerities. Worship of Lord Hayagreeva and Chanting Hayagreeva
Sahasranama or Ashtotharam, offering seeds of leguminous plant (it
is a kind of pulse good for health with lots of medicinal effect ) on Wednesdays and Saturdays brings abundance of virtues.
Worship of Lord Hayagreeva improve Swathik/virtues in human being and
it also eradicates all the addictions on potentially harmful drugs.
