Gupt Navaratri begins from 4th February, 2011. It is widely celebrated in all the Sakthi Peethams. Chanting of Srimad Devi Bagavatham / Durga Sapthashithi and obersving severe austerity brings abundance of merits on these days.
Haimavathy (Himavan Putri) - Sati's incarnation as daughter of Himavan and Menaka to attain Lord Shiva as her husband.
Brahma Charini - A form of Tapaswini, Goddess Uma with the permission of her parents Himavan and Menaka who underwent severe penance on the hills of Himalaya to obtain Lord Shiva as her husband.
Chandraghanta - Worship of Sakthi in her fierce form holding weapons in her ten hands, three eyes and seated on the roaring Lion to behead the demon.
Kushmanda - 'Anda' means egg. Creation of Universe takes place with the mere laugh of Ambal. In her eight hands, she carries different weapons and rosery beads seated on a lion.
Skanta Mata - Mother of Lord Skanda - Leader of the army of Gods. with three eyes and four hands, Holding Lord Skanda on her lap, and seated on a Lotus in a grand white attire.
Katyayini - Daughter of Rishi Katyayan - Rishi Katyayan was born in the lineage of 'Katya'. He underwent severe penance to obtain Ambal as his daughter. Katyayini was born to Rishi in her form of three eyes and eight hands holding weapons riding on a lion.
Kalaratri - Ambal in her fierce form. Her heavy and thick hairs are unlocked, wearing necklace around her neck which is shining brightly, her three eyes shining like fire balls, fire propells out of her nose while respiration. Though she has a fierce look, one hand shows the 'Abhaya Mudra' giving blessings to her devotees - 'Shubakari'.
Maha Gauri - Dhwala Vastra Dhari - Ambal in her peaceful form. Cladded in white, she rides on a bull, has three eyes and four hands holding weapons.
Siddhidatri - The 'Siddhis' are Anima, Mahima, Lahima,Garima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishitwam, Vashitwam. Whoever worships Ambal in this form is blessed with all the siddhis. In fact, Lord Shiva worshipped Sakthi and attained all the Siddhis and the form Ardhanarishwsara.
