Jai Sriman Narayana !!
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The constant existence of the three Gunas (Sathva,
Rajas, Thamas) in the Universe exhibits dissimilarities in knowledge/Gnanam,
faith/Shraddha and Karththa, Vasathi/capabilities, Sugam/happiness, Karma and
eating habits etc… Your
Kshethras/sanctum and veneration of you and all that relating to you remains
unaffected by these three Gunas, therefore I shall surrender to you, eventually
I will be freed from all the impurities.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, I shall venerate you with utmost devotion and
dedication, I shall surrender all my actions to you, I shall visit your sacred
places and remain in the association of your passionate devotees, I shall
consider everyone without any partiality, a robber and a Brahmin, animals,
dishonor and honor, jealousy or enmity.
I shall envision you in all living and non-living beings as well.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Bhagavan, I shall venerate all the living and
non-living beings as your personification, it will generate the sense of
oneness, which will provide the eternal knowledge about you; ultimately it will
lead to the path of righteousness. Oh! Vibho,
we earnestly pray to provide us perpetual devotion.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Bless us with good health and long life to
establish firm devotion on you, in order to achieve the above I shall venerate
you, worship at your lotus feet is like milk of medicine. Long ago Sage Markandeya was supposed to live
for twelve years, he sincerely venerated your lotus feet with intense devotion
for a year, and eventually your emissaries drove away Lord Yama.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, In this way Sage Markandeya attained long life,
soon he immersed in the severe penance on the river bank of Pushpabhadhra and
continued to remain in the eternal bliss for six Manvantharas. In the seventh Manvanthara Lord Indra tried
his all efforts to create impediments to the penance of Sage Markandeya, the
celestial Apsaras and Lord Manmatha who were assigned to create obstacle were
tortured by the intense power of Yoga of Sage Markandeya. Oh! Supreme Lord, who could overcome your
devotees?
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have pleased at the devotion of Sage
Markandeya, shortly you have personified as Narayana and proceeded with your
close associate Nara, appeared before the sage and repeatedly praised him.
Though you have offered him various boons was gracefully refused by the Sage
and asked for intense devotion to you, out of extreme curiosity expressed his
desire to witness the deluge which is the cause of all sorrows and grief.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, as soon as you have left the place, a whirlwind
followed by heavy downpour begun, that caused deluge in seven seas, eventually
the entire Universe was submerged into water.
Sage Markandeya wandered in the inundation for millions of years, he was
completely exhausted. Soon he has
witnessed a mysterious child on the banyan leaf at a distance, Oh! Supreme Lord
who has blue complexioned was lying on Banyan leaf keeping his toe on lotus
like mouth.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Sage Markandeya was in a state of ecstasy
approached you with an intense desire to embrace you were encircled by your mouthful
of air, which took him inside the body of you.
There the Sage witnessed the entire Universe; eventually he was thrown
out with the lungful of air of you. Sage
Markandeya looked at you and attained your fleeting look with full of
expression of delight, even though he had desired to embrace you, but you have
vanished from his sight instantly. Soon Sage Markandeya realized himself in his
hermitage.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Lord Shiva with Goddess Gauri desired to see your devotee
Sage Markandeya, who had already acquired the boon of immortality from Lord
Shiva. In fact, Lord Shiva was extremely
pleased at the veneration of you. In
this way, you have proved the supremacy as one among the Trinities.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Pasupakule, who was born in the Yadhava clan, Oh! Shuddhasaththvaikaroopi, who is the
supreme form of Saththva, Oh! Sachith Brahmadhvayathman, who is the Sacchith
Brahmam, in the Sathyaloka where exists
the abodes of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva respectively, Vaikundhaloka is free from illusion where the
supreme Lord resides in pure Sathvic form and in the clan of cowherds as well. Oh! Pavanapurapthey, we earnestly pray to protect us
from all ailments.
