Kamsa Vadham – Srimad Narayaneeyam / Srimad Bhagavatham !! lyrics & Its meanings

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, in the early hours of sunrise, the terrified King Kamsa’s command was followed with a drum beat; soon the game of wrestling has begun.   The assembly of Kings took their appropriate seats and Nandagopa also arrived at the palace.  Kamsa seated in a privileged place in the palace.  You and Balarama along with your associates dressed in attractive clothes entered into the main gate was obstructed by the angry elephant Kuvalayapeeda.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, you have yelled at the elephant to move away, but the wicked mahout prompted the elephant to chase you. You have caught the elephant on its tusk and released it playfully, gave a hard blow on its bulging forehead which has the resemblances of pot like bosom of young maidens of Vraja.  You hid between the legs of elephant for some time, shortly came out with an attractive smile.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, you have released yourself from the clutches of the elephant, exactly like the unattainable nature of you to the great sages, you have got hold of the elephant on its tusk and thrashed it on the ground.  You have pulled out its tooth from its root and offered the priceless huge pearl to your friends, informed them to create an outstanding necklace out of it and give to Radha.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have left the arena with Balarama, carrying the tusk of the elephant on your shoulder.  Oh! Vibho, Everyone’s eyes were got transfixed on your auspicious and glorious form.  The people who were witnessing your marvelous form exclaimed in utter amazement “Oh!  Nandagopa is fortunate indeed, No …No..Cowherds of Vraja/beautiful Young women of Vraja are fortunate, No…No..Yasodha is fortunate indeed….No No….the crowd assembled here are really fortunate in the three worlds….We are fortunate indeed.”

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, There were not many people knew about you as the Poorna Brahmam/complete Brahmam, you are the Paramanandha Prakasham/supreme bliss/ supreme consciousness excelled among the Gopas.  The crowd which was witnessing you for the first time realized the supreme bliss due to their devoutness, instantly they were freed from sins and merrily narrated your glorious deeds they had in their minds.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Chanoora & Mushtika, the leaders of the wrestler attacked you and Balarama at the command of the King.  The intense wrestling was took place between you and the wrestlers, banging with the fists, throwing, dragging and pushing etc….they have adopted various techniques.  Mysteriously, the wrestlers were attained union with you and released many times before their death.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The crowd revealed its disapproval of intense fight between the two young boys of tender age with the powerful wrestlers.  Instantaneously, you caught Chanoora on his powerful arm and twirled him around and thrashed him on the ground that killed him instantly.  Mushtika was killed by Balarama and the rest of the wrestlers ran out of fear.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Vyapthamoorthey, The wicked Kamsa ordered to stop the drum beat, he was utterly confused and ordered your respected parents to be killed, also ordered to throw you out of the city.  You were thoroughly exasperated by the words of sinful Kamsa.  Instantly, you have leaped like your celestial vehicle Garuda from the mountain, landed on the throne of Kamsa and caught hold of son of Ugrasena in hand with great effort, while he was trying to resist you with the sword.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have crushed his joints and heaved him on the ground, and you have settled on top his body.  Instantly, the deities showered heap of flowers on you.  Kamsa who was constantly remembered you in extreme fear; therefore he attained union with you.  The reason behind this was his tendencies of previous birth as Kalanemi who was killed by you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have killed eight brothers of Kamsa and prostrated before your parents, you have crowned Ugrasena as the King of the City of Mathura, and offered all those desired by the clan of Yadhavas and made them happy.  You have made close association with your fervent devotee Uddhava who had attained supreme knowledge from Amaraguru/Brahaspathi, and peacefully settled in the capital city. Oh! Pavanapuresha, we earnestly pray to protect us from all ailments.
