Gopivasthrapaharanam – Srimad Narayaneeyam / Srimad Bhagavatham !! Lyrics & Its meanings

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The beautiful eyed young maidens of Vraja who were tormented by the cupid arrow of Lord Manmatha, yearned to serve your lotus feet was made a sand image of Goddess Sri Girija on the river banks of Yamuna and started to worship.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The beautiful young maidens of Vraja who were immersed in your thoughts were reciting your holy names and glorious deeds, in the early hours of dawn they arrive on the river banks of Yamuna with hundreds of offerings to Goddess Girija and earnestly pray to reward Nanda’s son as their husband.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, in this way, the beautiful eyed/Tharalakshi/ young maidens of Vraja continued their austerities and worship for a month; you were so pleased with their dedication and devotion and compassionately arrived on the river bank of Yamuna to bless them.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The young maidens of Vraja completed their austerities and enthusiastically went to sport in Yamuna, leaving their clothes on the river bank, shortly; they were felt ashamed of seeing you in front of them.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The young maidens of Vraja stood their head hung down in utter shame, instantly you have picked up the heap of clothes from the ground and hurried to the branch of a tree.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, you spoke with a playful smile ‘Oh! Beautiful eyed young maidens of Vraja, come and pick your clothes.”  The girls were puzzled to hear that from you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The young maidens of Vraja spoke ‘Oh! Ambujaksha, Oh! Dear child, May you long live!  We are your servants, why are you teasing us? Give us our clothes’.  You have just smiled at them.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The young maidens who were innocent at heart, approached you with their palms joined, surrounded you as their ultimate safe haven.  Instantly, you have returned their clothes with blessings, your promising words soaked them in an extreme joy.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, you spoke to the young maidens “ I know your intense desire, I will respond to it with appropriate answer in the moon lit nights on the river bank of Yamuna.”

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, the young maidens of Vraja listened to the nectar like words from your mouth; they looked at your lotus face again and again with an extreme affection and returned to their homes.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, In this way you have pacified the young maidens of Vraja and roamed in the woods as usual.  Oh! Hare, Oh! Karunashishirey/Compassionate Lord, we earnestly pray to eradicate all our ailments at a fast pace.
