Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Madhuripo, slayer of demon Madhu, when Hiranyaksha was vanquished by your divine incarnation as wild boar, his brother Hiranyakashipu was in a state of grief and distress.  Later, in the assembly of the demons Hiranyakashipu took an oath to annihilate you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Hiranyakashipu underwent severe austerities praying to Lord Brahma, eventually attained several boon such as he cannot be killed by deity, human, or demon etc.. Soon he became haughty and tormented the people of the entire Universe.  He defeated Lord Indra and took possession of the heaven, in this way he overlooked you in all possible ways.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Hiranyakashipu hurried to your Abode of Vaikundha to defeat you, but you have disappeared from his wicked eyes and entered into his heart.  He went on search in three worlds, creating boisterous noise; consequently he did not find you anywhere and thought that you have fled away out of fear.  Eventually he returned home considered himself as the winner.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Prahlada was born to Hiranyakashipu.  While he was in mother’s womb, he had learnt the glories of devotion to you from Maharishi Narada.  Oh! Varada, provider of boon, although he was born in the clan of demon, as a child Prahlada was a zealous devotee of you and always remained as an ideal example of passionate devotee of you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, wicked Hiranyakashipu tried all his tricks to deviate Prahlada from your devotion, he appointed competent instructors to do so.  Because Hiranyakashipu realized his sons passionate devotion towards you and the clan of demons as well, he discarded all their teachings and induced devotion in him which leads to immorality.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Prahlada was questioned by Hiranyakashipu about the greatest of the lessons he had learned,  Prahlada was answered that the best lessons he has learned was the devotion to you.  Hiranyakashipu was infuriated by his reply and was in a rage to his preceptors.  But the instructors were replied that it was natural fondness of Prahlada towards supreme Lord.   Hiranyakashipu planned various methods to kill Prahlada who was already surrendered at your lotus feet.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Paramathma, Oh! All pervading Lord, Prahlada was tortured by tridents, trampled by herd of elephants, bitten by venomous serpents, left with no food; he was poisoned to death, hurled down from the mountain peaks.   Surprisingly none of the tortures were hurt him; he did not feel any pain as his mind was already immersed in you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,  Hiranyakashipu was puzzled at the response of Prahlada.  Later, Prahlada was kept tied with a rope at the teacher’s house.  In the absence of his teacher, Prahlada imparted the knowledge and devotion to Supreme Lord Hari to all the boys from the demon clan.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Hiranyakashipu was in a rage after listening to singing and praising the glories of Lord Hari by the boys of demon clan.  He yelled at Prahlada and blamed him a traitor.  Further, he enquired Prahlada who is his strength?  Prahlada unfalteringly answered that Lord Vaikundha is his immense strength and he is strength of his father and the entire Universe and the three worlds as well.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Hiranyakashipu, son of Dhithi continued, where is your Lord?. Where is he?, and pounded the pillars with his powerful sword.  Oh!Supreme Lord Vishnu, Oh! Kripathma, Oh! Compassionate Lord, Oh! Vishwathma, I am not in a state to explain it further.  Oh! Pavanapuravasin, I earnestly pray to make us an ideal one.
