Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord  Guruvayurappa,  Long ago there was a deluge took place at the end of the sixth Manvanthara, consequently Lord Brahma underwent Yoganidra, it was the moment the demon Hayagreevah pilfered the sacred Veda from the mouth of Lord Brahma.  Oh! Supreme Lord Vishnu, in order to retrieve the Veda you have decided to incarnate as divine fish.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Rajarishi Sathyavratha,  King of Dramila was performing oblation in the river, in the meantime you have assumed the form of a tiny lustrous fish and settled on his joined palms.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Sage Sathyavratha shove out the lustrous fish in to the water from his hand, but the little creature was terrified.  So he carried the little fish on his vessels and brought back to his palace.  Oh! Vibho , in a few days, the fish has grown out from pot, well, tank and lake and finally attained a colossal size.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, According to your command Sage Sathyavratha with all his Yogic powers took you to the ocean and released. Further, Sage Sathyavratha earnestly prayed you to reveal the deluge.  You have informed the Sage to wait for seven days and disappeared from his sight.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, At last the day of deluge has arrived, earth was engulfed by torrential rain.  Sage Sathyavratha along with the Saptharishis were washed off due the immensity of the current of the inundation, eventually they took refuge in you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The mother Earth was appeared in the form of a ferry at your will and Sage Sathyavratha and the Saptharishis were safely boarded on the ferry which was awfully quaking in the current of the water.  Oh! Compassionate Lord, you have appeared before them in the form of an enormous sized fish.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The sages were extremely delighted to see your glorious form as colossal sized fish of lakhs of Yojanas, ultimately the ferry was tied to your huge horns at your command.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, While leading Sage Sathyavratha and Saptharishis in a ferry, you have exposed them to the various regions in the Universe,  Rajarishi Sathyavratha eulogized your glories with the sacred hymns.  Oh! Compassionate Lord you have imparted the knowledge of Brahmam to him.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,  At the end of deluge the Saptharishis were  safely positioned in their regions and King Sathyavratha was sanctified as Vaivasvatha Manu.  In a while, you have attacked the demon Hyagreevah vehemently.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Your fierce horn torn apart the chest of the demon Hyagreevah and retrieved the Vedas, eventually it was handed to Lord Brahma who was extremely delightful at the turn of events.  Oh! Lord Guruvayurappa, I earnestly pray to protect us.
