Sri Krishna Leela - Govinda Pattabhishekam – Srimad Narayaneeyam !! Lyrics & Its meaning

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, cowherds who were witnessed your fearlessness and achievement by lifting the Mount Govardhan, considered you as Vishweshwara/ Lord of the Universe and enquired the details of your horoscope to Nanda.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Nanda detailed them about the predictions of Sage Garga and the prominence of Supreme Lord.  Consequently, the love and respect of the cowherds doubled towards you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, ultimately Lord Indra, King of deities’ massive pride and ego was trampled; he realized the true form of you.  He came down to Earth with the divine cow Surabhi/Kamadhenu and eulogized the glories of you and prostrated by placing his jeweled crown before your lotus feet.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, the divine cow Surabhi/Kamadhenu shuddered her milk out of extreme love towards you; hence you were named as ‘Govinda’ savior of cows/Lord of cows.  Airavatha, the celestial vehicle of Indra brought the sacred waters of celestial Ganga and blissfully poured over you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Jagathrayaisha, Lord of the Universe! You have venerated as the deity of Gokula, soon Gokula attained incredible prosperities and glories like Sri Vaikundha and the Abode of the celestials.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, once Nanda was bathing in the early hours of dawn in the brimming river Yamuna was seized away by the convoy of Lord Varuna.  You have gone to the abode of Varuna to save your father and accomplished the purpose of your human form.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Lord Varuna was surprised to witness your presence in his abode, eventually he venerated you with extreme devotion and dedication.  Shortly, you have returned home with your father, later Nanda shared this splendid experience with his group of men.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, the cowherds realized that you are the Supreme form of Lord Hari.  Oh! Omnipresent Lord Vishnu, they had an indomitable desire to feel the supreme bliss, you have revealed the heavenly bliss which is not attainable without intense devotion.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, you have revealed the ecstatic form of you, Great Ocean of liberation brimming with nectar and the cowherds immersed in it for a while, later they were brought back to their usual form of worldly state of conscious.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, you have revealed the blissful form of yours to your devotees like a berry in palm, that was not easily attainable, and it was not happened in any of your incarnations other than your personification as cowherd.  Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, I earnestly pray to protect us from all ailments.
