Sri Andal, who was the daughter of Sri Periyalvar has the names Godha Piratti/Soodikudutha Nachiyar/Bhattar Piran Puthalvi and Thiruppavai Padiya Selvi. She has composed illustrious Thiruppavai contains 30 verses and Nachiyar Thirumozhi contains 143 verses praising the glories of Lord Vishnu.
In this Pasuram/Verse, Sri Andal insists the young maidens to
pray to Lord Krishna, who was born in the clan of Yadhavas and the valorous child
born in Mathura, who finds immense pleasure in sporting in the holy river
Yamuna, and shines like dazzling lamp among the cowherds. Lord
Dhamodhara who has high esteem to Yasodha, was bound by the rope around his
waist by his mother. Sri Andal persuade
them to worship with utmost integrity and sincerity of mind and body, adore Him
with fresh and fragrant flowers, pay obeisance to Him, sing and praise Him,
immerse in His thoughts, engage in the self-less service to Him would
eradicates the sins committed in the past, present and future. All the sins will burn into ashes like straw
in an inferno.
