Om Swethavarnaya  Vidhmahe | Shoola Hasthaya Dheemahi | Thanno Maheswari
 
 
Prachodhayath ||

 
 
On the first day of Navaratri Goddess Sri Adi Shakthi is worshipped as Goddess Maheswari, consort of Lord Maheswara.  Goddess Maheswari has three eyes, seated on her celestial vehicle bull along with the Trident and flag, she has four arms, two hands carrying rosary bead and drum respectively, one hand in Abhaya Hastha posture to protect her devotees from the evils and the other in Varadha Mudra to grant boons to her devotees.  On the auspicious day of Pradhama, Goddess Sri Maheswari is worshipped with the flower Mogra/Jasmine/Mullai, singing praising her glories in Thodi Raga and offer Venpongal as Bhog are highly propitious.

On the second day of Navaratri Goddess Sri Adi Shakthi is worshipped as Goddess Kaumari is one of the Saptha mathas, incarnation of Goddess Sri Durga is an ever-youthful deity seated on her celestial vehicle Peacock, clad in red cloth with Shakthi and Trident.  Goddess Kaumari is worshipped with Sevvarali/Ghanera flowers, singing praising her glories in Kalyani Raga and offer Puliyodhara/Tamarind rice as Bhog are highly meritorious.
 
 
Om Mahisha Dwajaya Vidhmahe | Dhanda Hasthaya Dheemahi | Thanno Varahi Prachodhayath ||
 
On the third day of Navaratri Goddess Sri Adi Shakthi is worshipped as Goddess Varahi, Chief army general of Goddess Sri Adi Shakthi, is one of the Sapthamathas, female energy of Lord Varaha, she has the face of Varaha, seated on her vehicle lion and holding fierce weapons on her eight hands.  Goddess Varahi is worshipped with the Sambangi /Champa flower, singing praising her glories in Kambodhi Raga and offered   Sarkkaraipongal as Bhog are highly propitious.
 
 
Om Padmavasiniye Cha Vidhmahe | Padmalochanee sa Vidhmahe | Thanno Lakshmi Prachodhayath ||
On the fourth day of Navaratri Goddess Sri Adi Shakthi is worshipped as Goddess Sri Mahalaskhmi, consort of Lord Vishnu, goddess of fame, wealth and prosperity and an embodiment of beauty.  Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi seated in Lotus and Gajas serving her from both the sides, she is worshipped with Lotus/Mogra, singing praising her glories in Bhairavi Raga and offered Kadhamba Sadam as Bhog are highly meritorious.
 
 
Om Shyamavarnaya Vidhmahe | Chakra Hasthaya Dheemahe | Thanno Vaishnavi Prachodhyath ||
 
On the fifth day of Navaratri Goddess Sri Adi Shakthi is worshipped as Goddess Vaishnavi, consort of Lord Vishnu, one of the Sapthamathas, seated on her celestial vehicle Garuda and holding conch, discus, sword, sword, club, bow and arrow.  Goddess Vaishnavi is worshipped with the flower Parijatham/Mullai/Madhan Mogra, singing praising her glories in Panthuvarali Raga and offered curd rice as Bhog are highly propitious.
 
 
Om Gajadhwajaya Vidhmahe | Vajrahasthaya Dheemahi | Thanno Iyindree Prachodhayath ||
 
On the sixth day of Navaratri Goddess Sri Adi Shakthi is worshipped as Indrani, one of the Sapthamathas, personification of everlasting beauty and destroyer of pride and jealous is the consort of Lord Indra.  Goddess Indrani seated on her celestial vehicle Airavatha, is worshipped with the flower Sembaruthi/Hibiscus, singing praising her glories in Neelambari Raga and offered coconut rice as Bhog are highly meritorious. 
 
Om Vakdeviyai Vidhmahe | Virinjipathnayi Cha Dheemahi | Thanno Vani Prachodhayath ||
 
On the seventh day of Navaratri Goddess Sri Adi Shakthi is worhsipped as Goddess Saraswathi, consort of Lord Brahma and personification of wisdom and knowledge.  Goddess Sri Saraswathi seated on her celestial vehicle swan or white lotus, clad in white, holding the divine music instrument Veena on both the hands is worshipped with Mallikai/Mullai/Mogra, singing and praising her glories in Bilahari Raga and offered lemon rice as bhog are highly meritorious.
 
 
Om Mahisha Mardhinyai Vidhmahe | Durga Devyai Dheemahi | Thanno Devi Prachodhayath ||
 
On the eighth day of Navaratri, Goddess Sri Adi Shakthi is worshipped as Goddess Sri Durga seated on her celestial vehicle lion, holding numerous fierce weapons on her hands.  Worship of Goddess Sri Durga with the flower Rose, singing and praising her glories in Punnagavarali Raga and offered Kheer as Bhog are highly meritorious.
 
 
Om Krishnavarnayai Vidmahe | Shoola Hasthayai Dheemahi | Thanno Chamunda Prachodhayath ||
 
On the ninth day of Navaratri Goddess Sri Adi Shakthi is worshipped as Chamunda, a ferocious form of Goddess Sri Adi Shakthi, vanquisher of the demon Chanda and Munda.  Goddess Chamunda is black complexioned, wearing garland of skulls and various hands holding numerous fierce weapons.  Goddess Chamunda is worshipped with Sevvarali/Hibiscus/Rose, singing and praising her glories in Vasantha Raga and offered Akkaravadisal as bhog are highly propitious.
 
On the Vijaya Dasami day Goddess Sri Adi Parasakthi is worshipped as Vijaya, personification of victory over the evils.  Goddess Vijaya is worshipped with the flowers of Mogra/Mallikai/Mullai/rose offered Sarkkaraipongal & sweets as Bhog are highly meritorious.
