Thirukodikka is one of the 275 Thevara Shivasthalam of Lord Shiva located in Thiruvidaimarudur, Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu.  This is one of the oldest temples of Lord Shiva built during the Pallava regime famous for its stunning architectural and craftsmanship, the temple inscriptions reveal the contributions made by the Kings of Pallava and Chola.  This temple was re-constructed at the instructions of Queen Sembiyan Madhevi , wife of King Kandarathithya Choza.   This is one of the most sacred land on Earth superior to Mount Kailash.  In this temple Lord Shiva worshipped in the form of a self-manifested Linga.
