Thiruchanur/Sri Alarmelmanga Puram is one of the Abhimana Kshetram of Goddess Sri Padmavathi located 5 kms from Tirumala, Thirupathi.  It is believed that the holy trip to Tirumala turn out to be fruitful with the visit to this temple.

Festivals – Nithya Kalyanostavam of Goddess Sri Padmavathi Thayar with Lord Venkateswara Swamy according to Pancharatra Agama begins with Vishwaksena Puja, Punyavachanam, Rakshabandhan, Yajyopaveetha dharanam, Pradhama Veekshanam, Agni Prathishta, Mangalya Puja, Mangalya Dharanam, Purnahuthi, Pushpamala Parivarthanam, Thalamrala seva, Maha Mangala Harathi.

Karthikai Brahmostavam, Float Festival, Navaratri, Vasanthostavam, Ratha Sapthami.

 

Sannidhis – Lord Ganesha, Lord Sri Krishna, Balarama,  Sri Sundararajaswamy, Sri Suryanarayana Swami

 

The legend has that Sage Brighu visited Sathya Loka, Mount Kailash and Sri Vaikundham respectively to locate the Trinities who deserve to accept the initial part of havirbhaga of fire sacrifices.  Finally,  he arrived at Sri Vaikundham and found Lord Vishnu was immersed in Yoganidra and as usual Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi at her service to Lord.   Sage Brighu was irritatingly kicked the chest of Lord Vishnu and it caused a sudden tremor to Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi who resides in the chest of Lord Vishnu.  Lord Vishnu woke up from Yoganidra and worriedly approached Sage Brighu to find whether the kick has caused any pain to him.  Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi was frustratingly left Sri Vaikundham seeing the compassion of Lord towards Sage Brighu.  Sri Mahalakshmi came down to Earth and underwent severe penance worshipping Lord Vishnu.  Ultimately she took birth on a lotus flower in the pond situated here and eventually married to Lord Venkateswara.

 

This temple remains open from 6.00AM to 2.00PM in the morning and 3.00PM to 9.30 PM in the evening.
