Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple is
one of the Abhimana Kshetram of Lord Rama, seventh manifestation of Lord Vishnu
located in the heart of Thirupathi, (1km
away from Thirupathi Rly Station) Andhra Pradhesh. This is one of the oldest temples of Lord
Rama built by the King of Chola Dynasty during 10th century.

Festivals – Vaikunda Ekadashi, Brahmostavam,

Sri Rama Pattabhisheakam is
celebrated in a grand scale begins with Vikshvasena Puja, Punyahavachanam, Angoorarparnam,
Rakshabandhanam, Agni Prathishta, Vastra Samarpanam, Pattabhishekam/Makuda
Samarppanam, Poornahuthi, Akshatha Samarppanam and Mahamangala Harathi.
Masi Brahmostavam is celebrated
for nine days in a grand manner begins with the procession of Vikshwasena prior
to the Brahmostavam, the procession of deities Sri Kodandaramaswamy, Sita Devi and Lakshman on different celestial vehicles of
Lord known as Pedda Shesha Vahanam,
Chinna Shesha Vahanam, Simha Vahanam,
Muthyapu Pandiri, Suryaprabha Vimanam, Chandraprabha Vimanam and Kalpvruksham on the following days.
The legend has that this is one of
the sacred places where Lord Rama, Sita along with Lakshman paused while returning
from Sri Lanka.
This temple remains open from
6.30 AM to 1.00 PM in the morning and 4.30 PM to 8.30 PM in the evenings.
