There
is an interesting myth behind the origin of this temple; two zealous devotees
of Lord Subramanya Thiru Mari Chetti and Thiru Kandhappa Achari were carried
out a spiritual journey to worship Lord Subramanya at Thirupporur. On
their way they found too exhausted due to long walk and decided to take a break
for a while. Slowly they both were
drifted to sleep, in their dream Lord Subramanya revealed his existence on the
ground beneath they were settled. Soon,
they unearth the idols were sanctified and a temple was built in the year 1670.
This
temple remains open from 6.00 AM to 12.30 PM in the morning and 4.00 PM to 8.30PM
in the evenings.
