Parvati to be born on Earth. Goddess
Parvati took birth on earth and underwent severe penance to attain Lord Shiva as
her husband. She continued her severe austerities, she formed a Linga out
of sand and immersed in meditation under the Mango Tree in this place. The neighboring River Vegavathi threatened to engulf the Linga, Goddess Parvati
embraced the Linga in order to protect from its danger. Lord Shiva was
profoundly convinced by Goddess Parvati’s truthful gesture and married her.
