Nayanar was born in Kampli, Bellari District, Karnataka. He was a passionate devotee of Lord
Shiva. He was a skillful weaver; he
creates beautiful cloth worn around the hips for saintly people, the devotee of
Lord Shiva. He created magnificent
clothes with his soul and mind fixed on Supreme Lord and ceaselessly chanting
of Panchakshara Mantra out of pure love to Lord. In this way, he served the devotee of Lord
with their basic needs in a humble manner.
Lord was pleased at the devotion and dedication of Thiru Nesa Nayanar
and provided him salvation.
In the Tamil
month Panguni – Rohini is widely celebrated as Guru Puja day of Thiru Nesa
Nayanar, the day he attained the Abode of Lord Shiva.
