On the second
day of Navaratri Goddess Sri Adi Shakthi is worshipped as Varahi, one of the
mighty warriors of Goddess Sri Adi Shakthi. Goddess Sri Varahi is one of the Saptha
Mathas (Brahmi, Maheswari, Kaumari, Vaishnavi, Varahi, Mahendiri, Chamundi)
having the appearance of Varaha (Boar), holding the Universe with her
protruding teeth and carrying fierce weapons on eight hands. She has got several sacred names such as Panchami,
Bagala, Mangala Narayani, Dandini, Dandanatha etc..etc.. Worship of Goddess Sri Varahi with utmost
reverence and austerities, offerings of Curd Rice on this day provides
abundance of merits and destroys all evil forces.
