Thirumeyyam/Sathyakshetram/Venuvanam /Adi Rangam is one of the 108 Divya Desams of Lord Vishnu located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.  This is one of the oldest temples of Lord Vishnu built by King Mahendra Pallava with a close resemblance to Rock temple of Mamallapuram.  This temple is positioned at a tranquil atmosphere of Vaishnavi Durgai hills. 




Presiding deity – Sri Sathyagirinathar /Sathyamoorthy with his consort Goddess Sri  Uyyavantha Nachiyar, Utsavar – Thiru Meyyappan



Mangalasasanam – Thirumangai Alwar



Pushkarani – Kadamba Pushkarani, Sathya Theertham,



It is believed that holy dip on Sathya Theertham during the days of Pournami in the Tamil month Vaikasi is highly meritorious and eradicates sins committed.   All the sacred rivers unite on this holy pond on the above auspicious day and provide abundance of merits to whoever takes holy dip in this water.

Festivals – Vaikasi Brahmostavam, Adi Pooram, Sri Krishna Jayanthi, Vaikundha Ekadashi,



The legend has that Adishesha spew out poisonous venom on the demons Madhu and Kaitaba without prior instructions from Lord Vishnu.  Though he was successful in his attempt to fight against the demons and protect Sri Devi & Boodevi, he felt guilty of his act without obtaining permission from Lord.  He worshipped Lord Sathyagirishwara on this sacred land for forgiveness.



Dharma Devatha worshipped Lord Sathyagirinathar to put an end to the atrocities of the demons on Earth. 



This temple remains open from 6.00AM to 11.00AM in the morning and 5.00PM to 8.00PM in the evenings.
