Thiruethirkolpadi/Melai Thirumanancheri Sri Airavatheswarar temple is one of the 275 Thevara Shivasthalam of of Lord Shiva
located in Mayavaram, Nagapattinam District, Tamil Nadu.
Presiding deity – Sri Airavatheswarar with his
consort Goddess Sri Sugandha Kundalambikai/Malarkuzhalal
Mangalasasanam – Sundarar
Sannidhis – Lord Ganesha, Lord Nandikeshwara,

Worshipped – Airavatha worshipped Lord Shiva and
got rid of the sins.

The legend has that Goddess Parvati was turned
out a Cow at the curse of Lord Shiva and came down to Earth. She worshipped Lord Shiva by pouring out her
milk on the Linga. In the meantime, Sage
Baratha worshipped Lord Shiva to have Goddess Parvati as his daughter. Sage Baratha’s prayers were answered Goddess Parvati
born as daughter to Sage Baratha. Years passed by the beautiful girl child grown
into a gorgeous young maiden. Sage
Baratha prayed to Lord to find an ideal bridegroom for his stunning
daughter. Lord Shiva himself appeared before the Sage
into an attractive bridegroom and married Goddess Parvathi at
Thirumanancheri. Thiruethirkolpadi is the sacred land where
Sage Baratha received his bridegroom with utmost reverence in a ceremonial manner.

This temple remains open from 6.00AM to 11.00PM
in the morning and 5.00PM to 7.00PM in the evenings.
