Diwali is the festival of Lights celebrates widely across the
globe. In northern parts of India the
celebration continues for five consecutive days. On the first day of Diwali is celebrated as
Dhantrayodashi/Dhanteras. Second day of
Diwali is celebrated as Manisha Puja/kali choudas/Naraka chathurdashi/choti
diwali, on third day Lakshmi Puja/Sharada Puja/Deva diwali, on fourth day Annakootu Utsavam, Govardana Puja, Gudi Paduva
and fifth day is celebrated as Yamadwitheya.
- · Light over darkness
- · Good over evil
- · Knowledge over ignorance
The festival of Diwali commemorates the three mythological events
such as:
- · The return of Lord Rama after fourteen years of exile from his Kingdom Ayodhya.
- · Lord Krishna with the assistance of Goddess Sri Sathyabhama beheaded the Demon Narakasura.
