Jai Sriman Narayana !!
Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara !!
Sri Bodhendra Swamigal while waiting on the porch of Jagannath Pandit's house, he was slowly absorbed into deep meditation. Soon after a South Indian couple comes into sight. They were in a miserable and confused state; Sri Bodhendra Swamigal could very well sense the seriousness of the situation. Sri Bodhendra Swamigal watched the couple silently. They knocked the door in urgency, the door was opened and there appeared Sri Jagannath Pandit. The couple fallen at the feet of Him, weeping and speaking incoherently.
The South Indian couple described their wretched plight of situation to Jagannath Pandit. The couple started their journey to Kashi from their hometown. On the way, they stopped in a village to wave off their weariness and hunger. When the husband got up early in the morning, he found his wife was missing. It was distressing news for him and he continued to search for his wife. He reported to the villagers, they responded quickly that it might be the spiteful Mlechas who had taken away his wife. He was totally shaken at the news, but did not want to put an end to Kashi Yatra as decided by them earlier. With a heavy heart he fruitfully completed the Kashi Yatra and performance of rituals for his forefathers etc…While returning from Kashi, he stayed in the same village where his wife was abducted by the Mlechas. In the night, while he was performing ablations on the river bank; he could see a woman in a Muslim clad running towards him breathlessly. The husband realized her immediately that it was his wife who came running to save herself from the hands of Mlechas. She begged her husband to take her with him and promised that she will explain what had happened to her in detail. They arrived in a safer place in the mid of forest and she explained her pathetic story of how she was ill treated by them. She added ‘Would you accept me not as your wife once again, at least as your maid?’ Seeing her piteous state the husband replied ‘If Dharma Sastra allow such a noble thing to happen, I will definitely follow the same.’ The couple arrived at Jagannath Pandit’s home seeking valuable advice on this subject. They poured their heart breaking story to Pandit Jagannath. After listening to them carefully, Pandit Jagannath advised the couple to chant ‘Ram, Ram, Ram’ three times as a clarification for all their queries and advised them to live together as husband and wife once again. At this point of time, Jagannath Pandit’s aged mother – a widower peeped through the door and instructed her son that if it was his father they had come to seek advice, he would have advised them to chant the glorious Rama Nama only once. She yelled at her son for not understanding the power of ‘Rama Nama’ diminishing the glory of the same by advising the couple to chant it for three times. She added that even the biggest sinner need to chant the glorious Rama Nama for once to eradicate all the sins he has committed in his life.
Sri Bodhendra Swamigal listened to the whole conversation and stood upright at the words of Jagannath Pandit remembering the book; his father was written about Nama Sidhantha Grantha – Bhagavan Nama Koumudhi. Sri Bodhendra Swamigal fervently requested Sri Jagannath Pandit to provide him with the book he was inquisitively yearning to learn all these years as per the strict instruction and wishes of his Guru Vishwadhikendra Swamigal.
