My Temple Tour to Twin Temple - Sri Vaidhya Natha Swamy & Sri Rama Anjaneyar Temple !!

Jai Sriman Narayana!!

Before leaving to Chennai, I browsed on the net about the  details of the temples in and around Pallavaram & Nanganallur.    Luckily, I came across a site of Shantiraju's temple visits and a few more.  It was very informative and I am thankful them.  I am familiar with the temples around Nanganallur for more than 15 years now.  Still, I feel  that I did not get to know more about it.   Most of the time the temples will be overcrowded or not easy to get hold of the priests to have a word with, finally I have to be happy with a handful of 'Puliyodarai' or 'Pongal'.   In fact, I got this habit of visiting temples and finding out the sthalapuranam, workmanship and Architecture from childhood - A pure inclination out of curiosity and I do enjoy the most of it.  My Dad-in-law,  is an ardent devotee of Lord Muruga visits Arupadai (The Abode of Lord Muruga) Veedu by walk.  My Dad was not  so keen about the temple visits.  My Mom and Mom-in-law, they are just like the way I wanted.  These ladies accompany me wherever I go.

Sri Vaidhya Natha Swamy Temple is located on the G.S.T.Road near National Sidhha Unit.  The speciality of this temple is that, there are two temples   - Lord Vaidhya Natha and Lord Rama Anjaneyar temples are to be found   in one compound.  There is a small garden and  beautiful pathways which leads from one temple to the other.  So one who visits Sri Vaidhya Natha customarily step into the Sri Rama and vice versa.  This temple is  truly a beautiful blend of Shaivism and Vaishnavism.

The presiding deity in the Sri Vaidhya Natha Swamy Temple is Sri Vadihya Natha Swamy worshipped in the form Linga.  There are sannidhis for His consort Thaiyalai Nayaki, Lord Ganesha, Vishnu Durga, Lord Nataraja with Goddess Meenakshy,  Lord Subramanya with His consorts Sri Valli and Sri Devayanai, Lord Dakshinamurthy and Navagrahas.

The presieding deity in Sri Rama Anjaneyar Temple is Sri Ramar - Chakravarthi Thirumagan, Sri Lakshmanan and Sita Devi along with Sri Anjaneyar.  In the outer praharam there are sannidhis for Sri Anjaneyar, Sri Mahalakshmi, Chakkarathalwar and Sri Andal.

Jai Sriman Narayana !!
