Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, you have decided to expel the venomous serpent Kaliya from the river Kalindi and hurried towards the Kadamba tree situated on the river bank and settled on it which was left with no leaves due to the poisonous air.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, you have climbed upon the tree with your charming and cute little lotus feet which has the resemblances of the leaves.  You took a long leap into the deep waters of Kalindi which created a ferocious swirl effect.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Bhuvanathraya, who is the bearer of three worlds, Alas! The colossal weight of you caused the river water swirl madly with an ear splitting noise; eventually the river bed submerged into water for several Yojanas/distance.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, the sudden roar due to the swirl of water spread across the vast areas on the river in various directions.  It was annoyed the venomous serpent Kaliya, the King of serpents consequently he came out of the water and rushed to you in a rage.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, you have witnessed the serpent Kaliya before you, it has thousands of hood emitting poisonous blazes and has the resemblance of black mountains crammed on the top of one another.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, the giant Kaliya spew out venomous air of intense heat on you and punctured all over your body with its extremely powerful teeth, it coiled your body and reduced your movement into nothing.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, the cowherds and the cattle were distressed at your absence, marched towards the river bank of Yamuna.  Alas! The cowherds of Gokulam witnessed various wretched omens in their houses; consequently they also rushed towards the river bank of Yamuna.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, all the cowherds assembled were in a state of agony observing your difficult situation, they were ready to give up their lives to protect you.  Suddenly, you have appeared before them with a broad smile, detaching the coils of Kaliya around you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have mounted on the hood of serpent Kaliya and beautifully danced on it with your lotus feet moved according to the perfect rhythm, the gentle sounds of anklets and tingling noises of bangles added the beauty of your mesmerizing dance.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, the cowherds were in a state of ecstasy while witnessing the marvelous dance of you, Sages and Rishis were eulogized your glories and the deities showered flowers on you.  Oh! Maruthgehapathey, I earnestly pray to protect us from chronic illnesses.

Sri Krishna Leela - Legend of Kaliya Mardhanam - Kaliya undertakes shelter in River Kalindi & attack of fatal poison in Gokulam !! Lyrics & Its meaning

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,       Long ago there was a Sage Saubhari who was passionate devotee of you underwent severe austerities for twelve years in the under waters of river Kalindi, eventually he became emotionally attached to the fishes and creatures sporting in the water.  In the meantime Sage Saubhari witnessed Garuda right in front of him.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Sage Saubhari was infuriated at the sight of Garuda; the celestial vehicle of you was hungrily eating a fish.  Sage Saubhari cursed Garuda that he would lose his life if he remains threat for the creatures living in the river Kalindi.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Kaliya, a venomous serpent who was extremely proud of the power of his poison, swallowed all those offerings of Garuda, the King of birds.   The enemy of serpents Garuda, a faithful devotee of your lotus feet, got agitated and thrashed Kaliya with its wings.  Kaliya took shelter in the deep waters of Kalindi/Yamuna and it turned out forbidden place for Garuda.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, consequently the waters of Yamuna became toxin and the plantations near the areas were destroyed, birds flew over the river dropped down dead due to the dreadful venom of Kaliya.  Oh! Supreme Lord, the terrible state of these creatures had instigated absolute compassion in you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, once it was blistering heat, you have arrived in the woodlands near the river Yamuna, without Balram.  Due to the extreme heat, the cowherds and cattle were gone in search of water to quench their thirst, eventually they happened to consume the toxic water from the river Yamuna.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, all those cowherds and cattle lost their lives.  Oh! Lord Achyutha, you were overwhelmed with sheer compassion, your auspicious fleeting look on them was like nectar which revitalized them.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, the cowherds was brought back into life were experienced supreme bliss in their limbs and cried out, soon they realized that the strange bliss was your act, because they were already aware of your glorious deeds.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, the cattle were breathing life into them and they gathered before you affectionately.  They shed tears of joy, produced a gentle noise of gratitude and stood around you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Lord Mukunda, The cattle and the cowherds were experienced extreme bliss and felt that the strike of the poison was fantastic; eventually they praised you and worshipped you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, your fleeting looks are capable to revive the lifeless and eradicate all the illnesses.  Oh! Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Ocean of mercy, I earnestly pray to eradicate our illnesses.

Incarnation of Lord Krishna – Srimad Narayaneeyam/Srimad Bhagavadam !! Lyrics & Its meaning

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Lord of perpetual bliss, finally the time has arrived for the incarnation of you, thick dark clouds spread across the sky along with heavy downpour was shimmering in the brilliant blue rays emanated from your body.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, the downpour has cooled the entire land and the virtuous people were Jubilant at the fulfillment of their desires, it was midnight Lord Krishna, remover of sorrows and grief appeared on Earth.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have appeared in the birth chamber as a stunning child in your majestic form, adorned in various precious jewels all over the body, surrounded by hue of blue rays and holding conch, discus, lotus and mace on your hand.

Oh! Lord Vasudeva, You have appeared in the prison, spreading brilliance all over with Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi who was comfortably settled on your chest.  Her diverse fleeting look with shyness all over the prison dispersed the evil effects caused by wicked Kamsa.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, your glorious form which was unattainable even for the ascetics was revealed to Vasudeva.  He was in a state of bliss and tears over flown mellifluously sang praising the glories of you; indeed the majestic form of you was just like the nectar to honey bees.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You were eulogized by Vasudeva with utmost faith and devotion, he earnestly prayed “Oh! Parapurusha, remove the creepers of my grief and sorrows with your sword like eyes. Oh! Devapraseetha, remove all my sufferings with your fleeting look filled with compassion.”

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, your mother Devaki eulogized your glories by pronouncing sacred hymns with tears over flown, that made her fragile body packed with tears. Oh! Supreme Lord, Ocean of mercy, you have explained them about their two previous births.  Eventually, at the request of your Mother Devaki you have assumed the form of an infant.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, it was your will to replace the daughter of Nanda, therefore Vasudeva, son of Shoorasena took you in his arms.  Oh! Supreme Lord Vishnu who can be conceivable only in the minds of supreme ascetics, you were looked like an attractive young swan in a lotus in the arms of  Vasudeva.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, at your will Yogamaya was born in the house of Nandagopa made the people of that entire region sleep in deep slumber.  Surprisingly, the heavy protected and locked doors of the prison were opened without human intervention.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, truly blessed Vasudeva set out closely holding you in his arms.  Adishesha, the King of Serpents, stretched his numerous hoods to protect you from the downpour, gems from the hood of Adishesha thrown light all through their way.  Oh! Supreme Lord Vasudeva, I earnestly pray to protect us from chronic ailments.
