Dhyana Yogam – Srimad Narayaneeyam / Srimad Bhagavatham !! Lyrics & Its meanings

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Initially you have manifested in the form of Hiranyagarbha, a collective form of Jivas, later you have personified as individual Jivas with delusion and three Gunas,  the well developed Sathva Guna dominates the Rajas and Thamas by this means the devotion originates in Jivas.  I shall earnestly pray to provide Sathva Guna which would provide perpetual devotion to you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Bhooman, The predomination of sathva Guna would certainly point out the destructive force of sensual pleasures. The predomination of Rajas and Thamasic qualities would make it difficult to abstain from the sensual pleasures, because these qualities are inter-connected with the worldly pleasures.  Oh! Bhagavan, devotion at your lotus feet is the only way to control the mind; therefore I earnestly pray to enlighten me in the form of Hamsaroopi/Swan.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, there are various paths of happiness according to the taste of the individual, but these happiness are trivial and short living nature with severe consequences. Oh! Krishna, you have described to your close associate Uddhava that the perpetual devotion is the glorious path to achieve the supreme bliss, what does an individual achieve in worldly pleasure more than that of supreme devotion to you?

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The individual who is immersed in your devotion would self contentedly move around in this world, individual with no desires of their own would experience ultimate joy like an aquatic creature finds water all around, he will not be get attracted to Indraloka or Brahmaloka or the fruits of Yogasiddhi, eventually he will attain liberation without even desires for the same.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Your passionate devotee cannot be conquered by the senses, when the sensual pleasures overpower your zealous devotee due to weakness or lack of control over the senses, it can only be wiped out with the devotion to you, like blazing fire burns down the heap of woods, in this way the streaming devotion will burn the sins and sinful tendencies as well.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, A mind becomes pure when it’s completely immersed in love and tears streaming down with joy in state of ecstasy.  There is no use of undergoing severe austerities and learn spiritual texts without any devotion, purification of soul is possible only through perpetual devotion, and by tasting the explanations given by you, just like the usage of corrylium/Anjanam to the eyes, it is unnecessary to learn or practice the highly complicated debates.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, I shall practice the meditation by sitting straight in a Sukhabhaddha Asana posture, fixing gaze on the tip of the nose, controlling the breathe on Poorakam, envision the fully blossomed lotus facing upward in my heart, imagining sun, moon and fire above it and your magnificent form of water bearing dark cloud on top of it.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, I shall meditate upon the magnificent form of you with blue and lustrous hair, dazzling ear rings, gentle smile with overflowing compassion, marvelous Kausthubha, Vanamala, precious necklaces adorned and Shreevathsa mark on the chest, soft and beautiful arms and abdomen, majestic yellow attire, charming thighs and lotus like tender feet.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvaurappa, I shall continue to concentrate on your limbs with utmost dedication and fix my mind on your lotus like face with gentle smile.    The mind immersed in supreme conscious will not think of anything else, in this way I shall continuously remain in a state of spiritual union with you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Murare, I shall attain Dhyana Yoga, Anima, Ashtasiddhi, etc…enthusiastically.  The idle talk and unhealthy competition will cause delay in nearness to you, I shall remain unaffected of the above and yearn for union with you.  Oh! Anandhapoorna, Oh! Pavanapurapathey, we earnestly pray to protect us from sorrows and grief.
