Dhenukasuravadham – Srimad Narayaneeyam / Srimad Bhagavatham !! Lyrics & Its meanings

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Jagathpathey, In due course of time, you have attained the age of Pouganda-vaya: /boyhood, eventually you have gave up the duties of nurturing the calves and enthusiastically looked after the responsibilities of guiding the cattle.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Maruthpuradhisha, It was the ideal occupation you have chosen by the protection of Cows, because the purpose of your incarnation itself was to safeguard Gothra on the Earth.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, once you and Balarama were happily roaming in the woods and enjoying its serenity, eventually you have joyfully entered in to the Dhenuka forest after listening one of your friends Shridhama’s suggestions.

Oh! Suprmee Lord Guruvayurappa, Balarama forcefully shook the cluster of tall berry trees with his powerful arms.  Instantly, all the ripened and unripe fruits were fallen down in front of you.  Suddenly, there appeared a fierce demon in the form of monkey.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have pretended as if you were completely wrapped up in looking after the cattle and assigned your elder brother Balarama to vanquish the demon Dhenukasura who is the enemy of the deities.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, shortly the servants of the demon Dhenukasura appeared in the form of numerous jackals were effortlessly thrown to death on the berry trees like the berry fruits, by you and your elder brother Balarama.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, while taking away the life of numerous Jackals, I presume the Lord Varuna who was addressed as ‘Jambuka’ took shelter in the Veda due to the fear of death.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Murare, The deities were eulogized your glories stating that the fruit of your incarnation has achieved.  You were playfully commented your associates that the fruits of berries are in your hand and happily devoured the same with them.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You and your associates have consumed the nectar like juice drenched luscious fruits at your heart’s content and victoriously returned home with loads of fruits.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The people of Vraja cheered at the death of demon Dhenukasura and highly praised you saying ‘Victory to you’ and ‘May you long live’ while you were consuming the fruits. Oh! Maruthpuradhishwara, we earnestly pray to protect us from all ailments.
