Excellence of Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa – Keshadhipadha Varnanam – Srimad Narayaneeyam /Srimad Bhagavatham !! Lyrics & Meanings

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, I could see the spectacular brilliance of bluish hue in front of me, Oh! Vibho, I am almost bathed in that extremely blissful nectar, in the middle of the brilliance I could envision the most enthralling form of you surrounded by Maharishi Narada, Upanishads and a group of mesmerizing young maidens in a state of bliss.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,  I could envision the dark and beautiful curly hair locks decked with jewels and feathers of peacock of glossy eyes on it, decorated with the garland of Mandara flowers.  I could see your smooth and broad forehead decorated with the sandal paste resembles the sign of moon.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, your attractive pair of eyes with beautiful eye brows quivering and creating gentle waves in the ocean of compassion.  Your eyes are lustrous and have the resemblance of red lotus petals with attractive bluish eye lashes which cools the entire Universe.  Oh! Prabho, I earnestly request you to shower your fleeting look on deserted one like us.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Your face is more attractive with the beautiful nose; your cheeks are like the emerald green mirror marvelously reflecting the pairs of fish shaped gem studded ear studs dangling on your ears.  Your eye-catching lips are like Bimba fruits that are slightly parted to reveal the stunning row of teeth, your gentle smile overflowing with passion.  Oh! Vibho, I earnestly pray to shower the brilliance of your face onto us.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The sweet melodies released from the divine flute placed on your lotus mouth which cools the entire universe is the real Brahmam itself in the form of Sound.  The divine flute shines with the rays of your finger nails added with the various gem studded bangles on your hands.  Oh! Vibho, I earnestly pray to soak our ears with those enthralling melodies.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, We meditate upon your splendid neck reveals the luster of the Kausthubham jewel, your beautiful chest adorned with the mark of Shreevathsam and abundance of precious gem necklaces and various flower garlands on it,  honey bees hovering around the fresh alluring garlands on your chest.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, We meditate upon the most alluring five ingredients which smeared on your body and the fragrances which attracts the entire Universe.  Your slender waist like creeper which carries the three worlds in it, your mesmerizing body has the resemblance of rock of sapphire, grandeur of the yellow silk garment shines like molten gold and gem studded ornaments on it which emanate brilliant rays.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, your firm and attractive thighs which steals the heart of Rama/Sri, therefore, not to entice the Universe, it is always kept covered with the majestic yellow silk garments.  Your knees are like a casket which holds entire treasure required for your devotees and your forelegs are extremely beautiful and thin.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, I meditate upon the melodious sounds of your anklets which authenticate the excellence of worship of your lotus feet.  Oh! Vibho, your incarnation as tortoise elevated the sinking Mount Mandhar, in the same manner your forefeet raise the minds of the people who prostrates before your lotus feet.  Your lustrous toe nails which spread the moon light expel the darkness of grief and sorrow of your devotees.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,  The sole of your lotus feet are the most desirable  among your body parts which is most beloved to the great Yogis and the liberated souls dwells in there.  It fulfills all the desires of the devotees and sprouts like celestial tree. Oh! Pavanapurapathey, Oh! Lord Krishna, We earnestly pray to place those lotus feet always in our hearts.  Oh! Karunasindho, Oh! Ocean of mercy I earnestly pray to remove all our sorrows and sufferings and shower supreme bliss on us.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,  Oh!  Lord Vishwanatha, I earnestly pray to forgive me for what I have narrated without knowing completely about the greatness of you.  This sacred hymns of Narayaneeyam contains thousands of verses initiated due to the boundless grace of supreme Lord which describes the union of Vedas.  Your various personifications may provide long life, good health and happiness to whoever listens or read.
