Thodakacharya, fervent disciple of Sri Adi Sankara Bhagavadpadal praising his
Perceptor.
I meditate upon the holy feet of
Sankara Desika who is the vast ocean of sacred scriptures/Upanishads I
surrender to Him seeking protection, I
surrender at the divine feet of Sankara Desika who is the ocean of compassion
to remove my miseries inflicted from the worldly bondages and earnestly prays
to provide me the ultimate wisdom and eternal knowledge about the various philosophies. I praise and seek protection of Sankara
Desika, who is the Supreme Lord Shiva and earnestly prays to remove my delusion. The Supreme form of Sankara Desika who was appeared to remove the
indifferences prevailed in this world; I earnestly pray to protect from the pathetic
state of me. I meditate upon the holy
feet of Sankara Desika, who was emerged to protect the world from the miseries,
shines like a blaze which has the resemblance of Lord Surya and keep moving
from one place to another without anyone’s knowledge; I seek protection at holy
feet of the Supreme Lord who relentlessly moves around to satiate the imperfect
world. I surrender to the holy feet of compassionate
Sankara Desika, who is the supreme and unparalleled mentor/ Guru of All Gurus is
the treasure of all scriptures. Oh! Preceptor!
Oh! Sankara Desika I have no virtues or intelligence or affluence to mention
about myself, I am surrendering to your holy feet and earnestly pray to shower
your grace on me.
