Shivapuram
is one of the 275 Thevara Shivasthalam of Lord Shiva located in Kumbakonam,
Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu. In this
temple Lord Shiva worshipped in the form of a self-manifested Linga.

Gnana Sambandhar visited this sacred land and realized the presence of the
Linga underneath the land and hesitated to keep leg on the ground, in its place
he rolled over on his body all through the ground and worshipped Lord
Shiva. Later, Sambandhar halted on the
extreme corner of this place and sung praising the glories of Lord Shiva.
This
temple remains open from 6.00 AM to 12.00 PM in the morning and 4.30 PM to
8.30PM in the evenings
