Another legend has that Udayavar Ramanujar arrived on this sacred land while travelling to Thirukuruhoor to meet Nammalvar.  On his way, he met a girl and enquired the directions and distance of Thirukuruhoor.  In answer to his queries the girl beautifully recited the verses composed by Nammalvar and guided him.  Udayavar overwhelmed with the devotion, he hysterically fell at the feet of the girl thinking of Nammalvar.
