Divya Desams of Lord Vishnu located in Tuticorin (near Alwarthirunagari), Tamil
Nadu.
Presiding deity – Thiru Vaithamanidhi Perumal
with his consort Godess Sri Kumudavalli Nachiyar,
Theertham – Kubera Theertham, Tamraparni
Vimanam – Srikara Vimanam
Worshipped by – Lord Kubera, Lord Yama
Mangalasasanam – Nammalvar
Sannidhis – Alwars & Acharyas,
Garudalwar, Lord Yoga Narasimhar,
Goddess Kolurvalli, Goddess Kumudhavalli,
The legend has that Lord Kubera lost his glories
and wealth at the curse of Goddess Parvati.
Lord Kubera realized his mistake and earnestly prayed to Goddess Parvati
for forgiveness. Goddess Parvati
instructed Lord Kubera to worship Lord Vishnu in Thirukkolur to regain his past
glories and wealth. Lord Kubera arrived
on this sacred land and underwent severe austerities praying to Lord Vishnu and
regained his glories and wealth once again.
This temple remains open from 6.30AM to 11.30 AM
in the morning and 4.30PM to 7.30PM in the evenings.
