Thiruvellakulam Sri Srinivasa Perumal temple is
one of the 108 Divya Desams of Lord Vishnu located in Nangur near Shirkazhi,
Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu. Lord Sri
Srinivasa known as the elder brother of Tirupathi Balaji in this temple, hence
the presiding deity has got his name ‘Annan’ (brother in Tamil).

Goddess Sridevi & Boodevi Nachiyar, Utsavar - Sri Srinivasa Perumal with
his consort Goddess Alarmel Mangai

The legend has that son of King Dundhumara of
Solar Dynasty was saved from the clutches of Lord Yama by Lord Vishnu on this sacred land. Prince Swetha son of King Dundhumara underwent
severe penance at the age of 9 years, after having a dip on the sacred pond
positioned here. Lord Vishnu pleased at
the devotion of the child and blessed him with long life.
Kumudhavalli Nachiyar was was found in the
flower garden and she was brought up by a Brahmin. He nurtured the garden famous for its Kumudha
flowers and the precious child alike. Later,
she was proposed by the valiant Thirumangai.
Kumudhavalli Nachiyar put forward certain conditions to fulfill and finally
the valorous Thirumangai turned out Thirumangai Alwar one of the prominent
Vaishnavaite Saint. The marriage of this
divine couple took place in this sacred land.
This temple remains open from 8.00AM to 11.30 AM
in the morning and 5.30PM to 8.30PM in the evenings.
