This magnificent temple is situated on the 5 acres of land with a majestic Rajagopuram positioned on the East show the way to three grand praharams.  Unlike the other temples of Lord Shiva, Lord Nandikeshwara is facing the Entrance here.   Sri Sivananda Mouna Guru Swamigal underwent severe austerities under the jackfruit tree praying to Lord Shiva and attained the blessings of Lord.  In this temple presiding deity Lord Vilvanathar/Vilveshwara a self-manifested Linga is worshipped with the Vilva leaves.  This leaves has abundance of therapeutic qualities to heal the mental illness, skin diseases and most importantly it provides the childless couple with a boon of virtuous offspring.
