Varaha Puranam describes Nrusimha Dwadashi Vrutam as follows.
Worship of Lord Vishnu's fourth incarnation as - Nrusimha washes of ones sins committed. The austerity should begin from the twelvth day of bright half of the month - Phalgun. As a part of the austerities the worshipper undertakes fast on this day and worship Lord Narasimha with utmost faith and devotion.
