Sri Sridhara Ayyaval continued his journey through the scared lands and arrived at Thiruchirapalli. He inspired people with his Bhakthi towards Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva as well. During those periods Vaishnavism was at its peak in Thiruchirapalli. The King of Thiruchirapalli was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu. The people of Trichy raised an opinion against Sri Sridhara Ayyaval in his devotion to Lord and motivated the King to scrutinize his Bhakthi. As ordered by the King, the presiding deity Sri Mathrubhutheshwara was clad as Lord Krishna and taken out for village procession in order to test the reaction of Sri Ayyaval. While Sri Ayyaval was meditation as soon as the procession of the deity arrived in front of Sri Ayyaval’s house, he ran out with huge cries and lot of devotion praying to Lord. He recited the sacred verses about Lord ‘Krishna Dwnadasha Manjari’ praising the glory of Lord Krishna. The people who accused were fallen at his feet and forgiven for their ignorance. This incident doubled the respect and admirers of Sri Ayyaval. The King and the people were delighted to have a great Saint Sri Ayyaval amongst them. Later, in one of the occasions the King of Thiruchirapalli revealed his desire to have Sri Ayyaval’s permanent presence in his Kingdom, but Sri Ayyaval was already made up his mind to leave Thiruchirapalli to continue his self-less mission of spreading Nama Bhakthi. The King and the people in his Kingdom were grief-stricken; they were irrepressible due to the separation of a great Saint Sri Ayyaval. On that night, the King had a dream in that Sri Ayyaval consoling him that he was incarnated on this Earth with the very aim to spread Nama Bhakthi and the King was felt truly blessed and grateful for the blissful times he had spend with Sri Ayyaval.
Sri Sridhara Ayyaval continued his journey through the villages, he arrived at Tanjore. On his journey, his aged mother attained the Abode of Lord. He lived in Tanjore for quite sometime. The King Shahaji - King of Tanjore was closely associated with Sri Sridhara Ayyaval. Sri Ayyaval had huge admirers and was well respected by the people of Tanjore. King of Tanjore – King Shahaji had lot of devotion and respect towards Sri Ayyaval. At times, Sri Ayyaval assisted the King Shahaji with his valuable suggestions. The closeness between them forced Sri Ayyaval to accept the position of Dewan (Dean) in the court of King Shahaji for quite sometime. As the years passes by, Sri Ayyaval inclinations towards his position started to fade away. The inner craving towards the devotion to Lord and Bakthi cult created an aversion towards material life. Hence Sri Ayyaval quitted his position as Dewan (Dean) of King of Tanjore.
