The mighty demon Hiranyakasha abducted Prithvi (Bhumi Devi) and hidden under the ocean (Rasathala). Lord Brahma disappointed at this, it created havoc on his responsibility as a Creator. Lord Brahma was under deep meditation, during this moment suddenly a thumb sized pig surged through his nostrils. Surprisingly, the small sized creature rose up in the sky and turned out a wild boar. At this incredible sight, Lord Brahma and his Manasa Purtas – Marichi, Sanakadis and Manus imagined differently about this peculiar creature. Lord Brahma astounded at the sight of the wild board and wondered it might be the Lord Vishnu himself. When all of them engrossed in their thoughts about the wild boar and it purpose, the boar – Lord Varaha roared.
The loud shout of the wild boar was encouraging and it was showing some positive signs which made Lord Brahma and Rishis happy. They understood the wild boar was none other than Lord Vishnu himself to eliminate their frustrations caused by the demon Hiranyakasha. After listening to the constant roaring of the Lord Varaha, all the deities and Rishis eulogized Lord Varaha.

The Rishis and deities praised the glories of Lord Yajya Varaha in the above lines. Lord Vishu – who is eulogized by Vedas appeared before them in order to re-establish righteousness on the land and abolish the dreadful condition of mother Earth in the clutches of demon Hiranyaksha . The Shwetha Vahara with its grandiose, looked at Rishis and deities, holding its tail up, thick skin covered with small hairs on it, plunged into the ocean. It moved deep into see, Varaha by using its sense organs started searching for Lord Prithvi. The ocean waves and its roaring sounds were seemed like praying to Lord Varaha ‘ ‘Oh ! Lord, Save us’.
Lord Varaha entered the Rasathala and took Lord Prithvi with its sharp horns and elegantly raised her above the sea level. The gracefulness of Lord Prithvi on the holds of Lord Varaha was described in a classy manner. Abruptly, the mighty demon Hiranyaksha rushed from nowhere with his mace. Lord Varaha attacked the demon, a fierce battle took place in between them and within few seconds he died. After slaughtering Hiranyaksha , Lord Varaha stood majestically with blood all over his face.
