Trinity of Dakshina Bajana Sambradaya !! Jagadguru Sri Bodhendra Swamigal !! Part VI !!

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara !!

While Sri Bodhendra Swamigal was on his mission in spreading Nama Bhakthi he had the opportunity to be with Sri Sridhara Ayya Avargal of Thiruvisanallur.  They together visited the villages and initiated the work assigned to them.  They successfully continued their mission in spreading the significance and glories of Rama Nama and make the people aware of the importance of chanting the Rama Nama as need in hour, in this Kali era.

During the glorious mission of spreading Nama Bhakthi, Sri Bodhendra Swamigal happened to visit a village called Perambur.  There was a  pious couple requested Sri Bodhendra Swamigal to pay a visit to their house and they made all the arrangements to receive their Acharya.  Sri Bodhendra Swamigal arrived at the house to receive Bhiksha (alms).  The couple received Sri Bodhendra Swamigal with utmost respect and reverence.  The couple had a son, who was dumb by birth.  Sri Bodhendra Swamigal watched the couple and the child closely with lot of affection.  While leaving, the couple prostrated before Acharya with their one and only son.  Sri Bodhendra Swamigal’s eyes filled with tears at the distressed state of the boy.  The couple noticed the change in Sri Bodhendra Swamigal’s face.  They consoled themselves saying that it is their fate to have a son with dumbness and they are well accustomed with the situation.  Sri Bodhendra Swamigal disclosed his worries to the couple that He did not worry about the dumbness of the child; instead he worried about how unfortunate the child was not in a position to chant the glorious names of the Lord.  Moreover, the thought of without in a position to chant or listen any Nama of the Lord how the child is going to attain the Salvation, these were made him to worry about.  The couple answered humbly that, their one and only son would definitely attain Moksha with the blessings of their Acharya.  The couple firmly believed that with the Grace of Acharya everything happens in right way. In due course of time, with the blessings of Sri Bodhendra Swamigal, the child slowly started picking up the words and started chanting Rama Nama though it was unclear.  The child sincerely wished to be with Sri Bodhendra Swamigal and serve Him in all his life.  It was the time arrived Sri Bodhendra Swamigal had to leave the village to continue his mission further.  It was unbearable news for the child to take it up.  Seeing the painful state of the boy, Sri Bodhendra Swamigal affectionately handed him with his Sri Padukas (foot wear made with special wood for saintly people) and left.

Will be continued............
